They happen in the rooms where you were growing — solving something, learning something, becoming something alongside other people doing the same.
SheReads2Lead is that room. Ten times a year, we read one thoughtfully selected book and come together to discuss it — with a facilitated conversation, a structured guide, and a takeaway plan you can implement right away.
This isn't a networking event where you protect yourself from a sales pitch. It isn't a lecture, a seminar, or a one-way download of information.
It's a conversation among women who take their growth seriously — and who understand that the best way to grow is to do it in the company of others who are doing the same.
Who it's for
Whether you're leading a team of 500 or just stepping into your first leadership role — if you want to prioritize your personal growth through the challenge of reading and discussing ideas that change you, and you want to do it alongside other women who want to grow, this is your place.
"You don't need a fancy title. You just need to show up, read the book, and be ready to engage."
Women at any career stage are welcome. The only prerequisite is wanting to grow.
What to expect
Books are thoughtfully selected for relevance, readability, and richness of discussion. You'll have plenty of lead time to get your copy — print, digital, or audio.
Every meeting is led with prepared questions and structured conversation. Not a free-for-all. Not a book report. A real exchange of ideas with women who've engaged with the same material.
Every meeting ends with something concrete — a printed summary, talking points, and a personal action item you leave with. You won't walk out empty-handed.
The most valuable thing in the room isn't the book — it's the women. You'll build relationships with people who are serious about growth, not just talking about it.
2171 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16508. Real conversation happens in person. View our 2026 meeting dates →
How to read
Audiobooks are absolutely welcome. Whether you're reading on your couch or listening on your commute, the goal is the same: arrive with the ideas fresh in your mind and ready to discuss.
Each member is responsible for obtaining their own copy. We'll announce the book with plenty of lead time so you can get started your way, on your schedule.
A word about real life
We know what it's like to be a woman in leadership. Some months the book gets finished. Some months it doesn't. We get it.
If reading the full book wasn't in the cards this month, we ask that you read a summary and come prepared to engage with the ideas. Great discussion doesn't require a finished book — it requires a curious mind and a willingness to show up.
"We'd rather have you at the table, half-read, than not there at all."
The story behind it
The best connections in your career probably didn't happen at a networking event. They happened in the rooms where you were growing — solving something, learning something, becoming something alongside other people doing the same.
SheReads2Lead was born out of that belief. We looked at the professional landscape for women in Erie and asked a simple question: where is the room where women come to grow together and discuss ideas? Come help us build it together.
The club is rooted in a simple thesis: when you take ownership of your own growth — when you choose to read, to ask questions, to engage with ideas that challenge you — you stop chasing connections and start attracting them. The most meaningful professional relationships don't come from a quick exchange at an event. They grow out of the places and conversations where everyone is learning and developing together.
SheReads2Lead is that place. And it's launching in Erie — because Erie deserves it.
